Stuck at restore logo

I have an iPad 1G, 64GB and it's stuck at the "Connect to iTunes" logo. I've tried restoring it via, regular, DFU, PWND DFU, Soft DFU, and WTF mode, but to no avail. I'm getting only errors 3, 9, 14, and 3194. Just curious if anyone has any suggestions.

Okay, so I got it restored for a while. It did crash frequently, so I though maybe I could restore it once again.. I put it in recovery mode using tinyumbrella, and it worked. But, when I went to restore it using iTunes, it gave me error 3194. So, I decided to just leave it. I used my trusty TinyUmbrella, once again, and now it's stuck at the Apple logo. When it's plugged in I hear the sound it makes when it notifies you about being plugged in... Repeatedly.. Over and over and over and over... It's driving me nuts.

hard reset. then tell us what does it do?

If hung again, you have a botched restore---only solution is to complete a restore.

If it boots, then off you go. Stop trying to play Infinity Blade on an iPad 1 and you will be fine. You probably have some underlying hardware failure that would be too time consuming and frustrating to be worth it to hunt down.

PS: iPads bong bong like that when they are not happy---it happens a lot when the iPad loses its backlight.

Hard reset will probably shut it up....

I have noticed, occasionally, the screen flickers for a little bit (Periods of about 20 seconds, every 30 - 45 minutes) when it is working. I have also noticed that it likes to crash when I'm using Maps, the Apps Store, Safari, and Mail. Lord knows it doesn't like mail. JOC, Someone mentioned that it might be a Processor issue, how do you diagnose something like that? Is there a way I could find out which piece of hardware is faulty? I know it's more than likely extremely time consuming, but I have almost too much time, and I'm extremely patient.

You would have to get a copy of the schematic for the iPad 1 and begin testing individual components----do the right voltages come up for the power supply lines? Are there any missing/damaged/burned components on the logic board--if so, replace them etc.

I would start with a known good iPad 1---switch your logic board into that housing and see if the problem persisted. If so, then begin comparing readings of resistance, continuity and voltage to try and figure out the puzzle.

sounds like a hardware problem--has it been dropped? The only other thing you could try may be to see if you can clean the dock connector since it is pretty old and is the conduit for the info transfer.

I'm not sure. I don't think it's been dropped. But, I got it restored by putting it in regular DFU mode and restoring the stock 5.1.1 firmware. But, now it randomly restarts. About every 1/6 times it restarts it asks me to restore it but, I just use recboot or tinyumbrella and kick it out of restore mode. Any suggestions on fixing the reboot thing?

My kids use iPad 1s on 5.1.1---I think the randomly reboot thing may be just related to trying to run software designed for later model machines on iOS 5

hard reset can clear a lot of weird software problems.

Ooookkkkaaaaayyyyyy...... How exactly could I do a "Hard reset", exactly... ALSO, what is the difference between Restoring and doing a Hard Reset, exactly?

完成的

restore = reinstalling the software. hard reset= similar to pulling the power plug on your computer then putting it back in---full reboot. done by holding top power button and center home button together for 10seconds---past the red slider screen.

double check that you have the newest version of itunes. Also if you have been doing jailbreaking and modifying files so that itunes will talk to cidya servers instead of apple this will cause problems when trying to restore. try starting a new user profile and restoring from it or even a different computer. Good luck.

I have not been attempting to jailbreak in any Which, Way, Shape, or form. I have just been trying to do a clean restore. I am 100% sure I have the newest iTunes, and I also double checked the hosts file for the line "17.151.36.30" (It wasn't there) Which, if I'm correct, is a good thing because it causes the 3194 problem, but I continue to get the 3194 error. i have disabled my security software (Microsoft Defender).
