My PowerBook doesent start with my new harddisk
I have installed a new harddisk but now it doesnt answer and start at all when I turn on the power button°!?
You need to format and install system on the new hard drive. Start up from the system installation disk by holding down the "C" key with the disk in the drive. Go to Disk Utilities on the second page pull down menu and format the drive. Mac OS extended should do. Then go back and install the system. Next, download and install the system updates by going under the Apple in the upper left hand corner to "Software Update". Keep updating until there are no more updates.

When starting up, if you see a folder with a question mark in it, that means it can't find a start-up folder. It will look on the hard drive and then the optical drive.
Ok, but the problem is that the only thing that happens is that the "file" symbol is flashing when I turn the computer on

That's because there is no system. Put the disk in.
