Why laptop not boot in dos?

dear sir

when i press the power botton on my laptop laptop lights on and fan start but nothing else start even the hardisk please help to know the problem and fix it

try to remove the RAM, the AC adapter and the battery. Hold the power button down for 15-30 sec. Then reinstall the AC adapter and start with one RAM module only. See what you get
