The screen of the desktop is crossed by a number (exactly 14) of vertical lines large about 1 millimeter of different colors.The device works well but the vision with those lines troubles me. Agostino Torre

sounds not that great - but let's start with plugging the qosmio to an external monitor to rule the graphics card out.

here is a great comparsion of screen failures - but i think you's is example 2 with more lines.

here are a few guides for the qosmio's

This happened to a friend of mine. Try lightly twisting the display frame. If the number of vertical lines changes or if some disappear and new ones appear then you will have to replace the LCD screen.

The graphics chip on the X505 series and a few others tend to overheat and this causes the solder joints on the motherboard to crack and fail. New motherboards are available on ebay. There are also repair services to reflow the solder joints. You might even be able to repair it yourself with a heatgun like people do with RRoD Xboxes but that's probably above your skill level.
