Display not coming on after "liquid" incident...

So our cat barfed on our MacBook Pro keyboard, yes, let me repeat... our cat BARFED on our MacBook Pro keyboard. Anyways here is the issue...

I cleaned everything the best I could with alcohol etc. The computer turns on and most of the keys work on the keyboard (I'm ordering a new keyboard to fix that). But the display does not turn on. I really didn't notice any liquid on the logic board or other internals except the keyboard. When I connect an external display the computer works fine. The system profiler does not detect the display at all. I did pull the display connector and made sure it wasn't the problem and it looks fine and clean.

Any ideas?

Is it the LCD lightning system that does not turn on ? Can you see a faint image of the desktop or the display is completely black ? Just light the display back panel Apple logo with a flashlight and check if you can see the desktop.

There's a gap at the display base between the front display bezel and the LCD panel. Maybe the liquid made its way there and damaged the inverter board but the LVDS (video) cable runs from the logic board to the top LCD panel so the only place where it could be liquid damaged is in the logic board LVDS socket but you say there was no liquid on the logic board so ?????

Is the sleep function still can be activated on and off ?

Sounds like a ruined LCD then, you can get a replacement here.

But, I'm just confused on why the LCD went out if no liquid got the the logic board or the lcd panel?

Does he say that no liquid got into the lcd panel? He says, however, that he checked the cables (which would be my first guess), so the more logical solution would then be the LCD if it's not the cables and picture shows up fine in an external display. Though mayer's suggestion to check for particulates is good.

Oh whoops, you ARE the poster, so I guess no liquid got into the lcd panel you say? You may want to open it up and check.

I don't see how it would ruin the display either. Your connector cables may have pulled loose while you were working on it. I would recheck both ends on them all, that failing then look at replacing them. I would examine the sockets with a magnifying glass to look for particulate matter.
