Left DIMM slots not working

So I performed an upgrade to my 2010 iMac by upgrading its ram from 4gb to 16gb and also installing a second HD using the ifixit kit and instructions.

The install went smooth, but after powering back on the two left dimm slots on the Mac no longer work. I can populate both right slots , but any ram placed in the left slots (facing the front left side) doesn't work.

I'm assuming I didn't seat the logic board back correctly, or possibly bumped something else?

Any ideas would be appreciated. Technically I don't need the slots (just losing out on 4gb of ram) but I'm concerned something bigger is wrong.

Thinking of taking it back apart to straighten the board (back USB/network ports are slightly off but useable) and seeing if that does it.. Praying I didn't short anything

Double check your getting the RAM down all the way on the left side... many times RAM problems turn out to be not getting the connector straight, and completely seated in the slot.

Of course you have tried all the RAM in all the slots to ensure you don't have a bad chip or two?

Good Luck,

Number one, what in the world are running that could possibly use that much RAM? Number two, sometimes a slot that will not take the maximum RAM chip will take a lessor chip. So try one of your old chips in it.

1.) VMware

2.) Yup i tried the smaller DIMMs in the slots. It's definetly the dimm slots that arent working (tried every possible combination of RAM/Modules).

I'm going to reseat the logic board and clean the connectors. I'll post a followup.

完成的

Slots do go out sometimes.
