My ipod fell in sink and it turns on but it turns back off! Any help

Andy Lamb, you need to treat it for the water damage. Disassemble your iPod by using these guides. Then clean it using isopropyl alcohol and a soft brush, just like it is shown here. That guide was written for a iPhone, but all the steps still apply to your iPod. After that replace the battery, reassemble your iPod and re-evaluate for further, if any, damage.
