Device will not power up
When flipping the power switch, the device does not power on
Battery is depleted
Device battery level is empty and needs to be charged before the device can be used.
Faulty power switch
Power switch is not triggering the boot up process because it is not making a proper connection to the inside components. For help on repairing or replacing the power switch check out our replacement guide.
Unresponsive screen
Device could be powering on but instead the screen isn't working properly. Check out or guides for fixing the screen.
Faulty Battery
Device battery is damaged or cannot hold charge and needs to be replaced. For steps on how to replace the battery check out our repair guide.
Device does not charge or hold charge
When trying to charge the device it does not charge, or when the device is charged the battery has a very short life
Bad power adapter
The battery is not getting any charge because the adapter is bad, try charging the device with a different battery.
Weak power source
The outlet being used to charge the device is not outputting enough power, try testing with a different outlet or power source.
Bad power connector
12V connector port on the device is damaged or not connected correctly. Check out our guide on how to replace the DC 12V connector.
Faulty Battery
Device battery is damaged or cannot hold charge and needs to be replaced. For steps on how to replace the battery check out our repair guide.
Distorted or no audio
Device starts up and appears to work correctly but when trying to play sound through headphones or speakers it is distorted or nothing plays.
Bad headphones/speakers
Audio problems can be caused by faulty headphones. Test the headphones on another device to make sure the audio sounds normal. Test the audio on your device with a different set of headphones, if the audio still has problems then the issue is most likely with the device.
Bad audio jack
If the problem only occurs when trying to play the audio out through the headphone port and not the built-in speakers then the issue is most likely a faulty audio-out jack. Check out our guide on how to replace the audio-out jack.
Bad Speakers
If the problem only occurs when trying to play the audio out through the built-in speakers then the problem is most likely with the device's speakers. Check out or guide on how to replace them.
Unresponsive touch screen
When trying to use the touch screen, it does not respond to your interaction with it
Dirty screen / hands
A common cause of this problem is that either the screen or your hands are wet or dirty. Try cleaning the screen and hands to see if that was the problem. If not the screen is most likely the issue.
Bad Screen
The cause of the problem is that the screen is no longer functioning properly and either the connection needs to be corrected or the screen replaced, for steps on how to do this check out our guide.
Cannot adjust volume levels
When pressing the + or - sides of the volume rocker the volume level does not change
Bad button
The volume rocker is damaged and is either not connected properly to the device or is faulty. Check out or guide on how to replace it.
