Nokia 101 will not turn on ¶
The device will not turn on or will only stay on for a brief moment.
Battery was installed incorrectly ¶
If the device will not power on, try removing the battery and reinstalling it while paying close attention to the correct battery terminal alignment.
Drained/bad battery ¶
If your Nokia won't turn on, especially if it hasn't been used in a while, you may simply have a drained battery. Connect the device to your factory charger and try powering on the device again. If this proves to not be successful, then you may have a dead/ bad battery that needs to be replaced.
Dirty battery terminals ¶
If your Nokia will not power on, try removing the battery and examining the battery terminals for rust, lint or dust that can inhibit a proper connection.
Broken phone charger ¶
If the device will not power on and the battery appears to be dead, try using the factory charger on a different device to make sure it is charging properly.
Bad screen ¶
If you attempt to power on the device and the keyboard lights up and there is sound coming from the speaker, then the battery is in working order and the screen may need to be replaced.
No sound or poor sound quality ¶
I have no sound or poor sound quality when making phone calls or listening to music.
Check the speaker volume ¶
If the screen display shows the volume being turned up or down after you have pressed the volume key but there is no change in volume coming from the speaker, then the speaker may need to be replaced.
Blown speaker ¶
If there is a crackling sound when listening to music or phone calls, try plugging a pair of headphones into the audio jack to listen. If the crackling sound goes away, then you may have a blown speaker.
No characters appear when texting or dialing ¶
There is no response on the screen when I try texting or making phone calls.
keypad is locked ¶
Turn on your device and check the keypad locking feature to make sure it is disabled. If there is still no response after the feature has been disabled, then the keypad may be the issue.
Dirty keypad ¶
If there is no response when pressing certain keys or any key on the keypad, try removing the keypad and cleaning away any dust or debris. If this doesn't work then you may have a broken key or keypad.
Keys are sticking after being pressed ¶
If a key tends to stick after it has been pressed, try removing the keypad and cleaning dust and debris from the area of the defective key. If this proves to be unsuccessful, try replacing the entire key pad.
Nokia 1010 screen display is not working ¶
After turning on the Nokia 1010 there is a partial picture or no picture displayed on the screen.
Cracked screen ¶
Cracked or heavy scratching to the screen can affect the function of the phones display and may require the replacement of the screen.
Partial or no display of the picture ¶
Make sure the battery is fully functional and has a charge. Try calling your Nokia 1010 from another phone to eliminate the possibility of an issue with the software. If the background lighting of the keypad appear to be working yet there is still no display on the screen, then the screen is most likely the issue.
Issues with the Nokia 1010's dual SIM ¶
My phone will not read the SIM card to allow me to edit contacts or make phone calls.
Unable to delete or modify my contacts ¶
Try restarting your device and switching the SIM card from slot 1 to slot 2.
Phone reads no SIM in slot 1 ¶
Start by turning off your device and removing the SIM card. Next, clean any dust or debris from the SIM card or its terminals on the phone and reinserting the card. If this is unsuccessful, try restarting the device with the SIM card in slot 2. If that works then its possible that the SIM card slot is broken.
