My battery life was short and the laptop would shut down at 50% or higher if I had a portable drive connected.

Thought about trying to cheat the repair by not removing the logic board et al, but then just settled in for the long slog as I've been working on computers for years (built my first one in '96). Things basically went as planned. The instructions were spot on and I was super methodical. Took a little longer than described, but I wanted it to be a one and done. I've done projects where I've had to reopen the case because I didn't seat something properly. Also, just be patient with all of the steps, including letting the acetone do its job.

First of all, I got the Fix the World kit which was great... especially the magnetic project mat. For this job, get the dang thing! There are too many parts and too many screws. Everything was great in the instructions... only had a problem with the two smaller case screws stripping out the aluminum with little torque applied.
