Using your video I was able to disassemble the dishwasher, clean the much clogged “self-cleaning” filter and return the dw to normal operation and clean dishes. Without your video, I’d have had no idea how to proceed. Probably saved a few hundred bucks by doing it myself. I’m sure a repairman would have put in a whole new pump assembly rather than clean the filter inside the existing pump assembly

This was extremely helpful and saved me 100's of dollars since I didn't need to replace the whole recirculating pump! I already had replaced the diverter motor which didn't help and was about to either get help from a pro or buy a new dishwasher. Thank you kindly, Dan. I suspected the issue was something like this and your video was perfect. When we got down to the filter it had somehow shredded itself, which was problematic. The filter assembly cost me $75+ shipping from genuinereplacementparts.com.
Hi Lindsey, I actually had that very thing happen about 6 months later so I made a new video for that issue as it involved the main motor. you can hit that hear.
Thanks Dan Everything worked well except I had a lot of trouble stabbing the pump assembly back in. I lubed the rubber in the alignment port and the hoses (inside) with a Q-tip and some silicon lube and it slid right in. Also the onerous clamp can be spread open with a flat blade screwdriver and pinched shut using a pair of dikes (wire cutters, being careful to not snip it apart). This was my 2nd rodeo with this and seems to work well. Thanks again!
