This is NOT liquid Electrical tape! I recommend using 3M adhesive silicone. If you are doing this repair then you can find the 3m adhesive silicone at automotive stores. Liquid tape hardens and 3M adhesive remains mailable vs the rock hardening effect of liquid tape.

用PH2螺丝刀从白色塑料外壳上拆下剩下的四颗16mm十字螺丝。
The two screws on the right side (side with the USB port) are too long to extract with the iFixit screwdriver in the basic kit. I needed to use a regular thin PH2 screwdriver to get them out.
I had this problem also, whenever putting the screws back in there were still air pockets in the side with smaller screws

这整个白色的部分需要被更换。(如果需要更换 AUX/USB 接口).
It looks like it would be difficult removing the USB assembly because mine looked very well glued in that little space meant for the module to fit.
Thanks for this guide

If you can struggle through all the black sealing putty and hot glue, you can remove just the charge port and cable.
Where do you get the new white casing from? It says “no parts needed” but it seems like u need an important part!

Hi. This is the problem my speaker is having, but all I need to know is where to buy the replacement back. That's certainly something you should have included in your guide.
The purpose of a guide is to show how to fix the device, not obtain parts. I suggest eBay.
Joe Durand. Thank you for taking time out of your busy day to share such an enlightening comment.
Yeah what was the point of this if people can't actually do it. BS
The point is to guide people on the replacement of parts, not obtaining parts. I suggest eBay.
Worked like a charm. After sourcing the cable from eBay, $15 plus ship and 30 minutes of tear down and assembly.... We're in business. Important note.... Instructions do not show removal of cable from the back case but easily accomplished.
Jim, what exactly did you search on eBay? I am unable to find the casing

Yes I'd like to know the part number for the usb cable also.

I love my charge. Guess I got the same problem, stupid usb charge port breaks, been tweaking the angle/pressure of the cable/plug for too long now, just to charge it. I took it apart following the procedure, Thanks! fun fun!. I'm not going to pursue replacing the whole panel and connector board, I don't see the point, its just gonna break again. I'm gonna just tap in to the charge wires inside, drill a hole, bring those outside and into something like a mini headphone socket. I'll glue that to the back of the unit or whatever. Then I'll modify a USB cable with a corresponding jack and connect just the needed + and - connections needed for charging. I'll just need to figure out where in the usb cable that charging voltage is. Not worried about that, I have my voltmeter, and the internet. I'll let you know how this goes. Drew
I swear this is stupid USB charging karma just deciding to really annoy me. why would you use an apparently fragile micro-usb connector, JUST FOR CHARGING in the first place? anyway, I happen to also own a bose soundlink color, Its a nice unit, a bit more bassy and louder than the charge, but then again with the charge bass response depends highly on location. The Bose unit doesn't have the battery life of the charge, I'mthinking around two hrs less play time on bluetooth. so anyway, since the charge is taken apart right now, was using the bose all day, then the batt died, when to plug it in, and same $@$*, now I got to fiddle with the stupid fragile usb plug just to get it to charge. I've only had this bose unit for 5 months, and it was brand new, and from experience I've been real carefull when plugging it in to charge. rediculous! now I have to learn how to takes another one appart.

When playing music my device JBL skips..how can I correct this
V disappointed in JBL product. Great sound to go with a v poor charging mechanism. An alternative is sorely needed for these types of ports.
mines has no screws!
I would like to splice a USB cable in place of the microWhat I would like to know is what wires would I connect to what wires on USB cable to to be able to charge my unit terry-bell@live.com

Lol I am just about to splice the battery cables and feed a spliced USB cable to it haha what's the point of spending more money if its just gonna break again
You should probably add the white casing to your parts list and recommend places to buy it……..
Left out removing black sealant over protective cover!
Afterwards remove the single screw in the center and remove circuitry
Voila no need to damage or replace the case

Basically, I'm fed up with the BT quality and range with my Bose SoundLink II, and thought about getting a CC Audio to pair with it.
There's a micro-USB port on it that I thought about making a special cable for to power the CC Audio to keep the whole package portable. Anyone attempt this?
Alternatively.. Are there any CC enabled portable speakers out there? Not interested in anything with Google Assistant either.
Thanks!
