That sounds incredibly frustrating, especially on a Z Fold where landscape mode is one of the best ways to use the device.

Since this started right after a restart, it’s likely that a system setting was triggered or a specific app's cache became corrupted during the reboot. On Samsung Folds, the "Picture-in-Picture" (PiP) glitching often happens because the phone thinks you are trying to minimize the app when you rotate it.

Here is a breakdown of how to fix this, starting with the most likely solutions:

1. Fix the App Aspect Ratio (Samsung Labs)

The Z Fold has specific "Labs" settings that force apps to behave in certain ways. If these are misconfigured, rotating to landscape can cause the app to crash into PiP mode.

  • Go to Settings > Advanced features > Labs.
  • Tap on Auto rotate apps.
  • Find the app you're having trouble with (e.g., YouTube, Netflix) and ensure it is set to App default or Full screen.
  • Also, check Customise app aspect ratios in the same Labs menu and ensure the app is set to Full screen.

2. Disable "Continue Apps on Cover Screen"

Sometimes there is a hand-off conflict between the inner and outer screens that triggers a pause when the orientation changes.

  • Go to Settings > Display.
  • Tap Continue apps on cover screen.
  • Try toggling this Off for the specific video app you are using, then test landscape mode again.

3. Clear the App Cache

If this is happening primarily in one app (like YouTube), the restart might have caused a glitch in that app’s temporary files.

  • Go to Settings > Apps.
  • Select the video app (e.g., YouTube).
  • Tap Storage > Clear cache. (Do not tap "Clear data" unless you're okay with logging back in and losing downloaded videos).

4. Check for "Flip to Pause" Gestures

Samsung has a feature that pauses media when the phone is moved or flipped.

  • Go to Settings > Advanced features > Motions and gestures.
  • Ensure Mute with gestures (which includes "flipping" the phone) is turned off, as the sensor might be misinterpreting your rotation as a flip.

5. Wipe Cache Partition (Advanced)

If none of the above work, there may be "junk" files left over from the system restart. This sounds technical but it doesn't delete your data:

  1. Turn off your phone.
  2. Connect it to a computer via USB cable (this is required for newer Folds to enter recovery mode).
  3. Press and hold Volume Up + Power until the Samsung logo appears.
  4. Use the volume buttons to highlight Wipe cache partition and the power button to select it.
  5. Once done, select Reboot system now.

I will try this an I'll update you , i also noticed in short form content like reels or shorts that the screen is flickering , it gives me the idea that maybe the android system itself is crashing somehow
