How to switch app's Apple ID?

So a few months ago I sold a MacBook Pro that I no longer needed but I left a few apps on there that I had downloaded from my Apple ID account. I got an email today from the man I sold it from asking me how he could update the apps and what the password to my account was. I really do not want to give him the password to my iTunes account because it has thousands of dollars in apps and music and I do not want him to purchase anything on my account. Is there any way that I can have the apps updated without an account? If there is not, how can he keep the apps on the computer/ transfer them to his account? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Update: I at least want to disassociate my account from those apps because I am not going to give my Apple ID to a complete stranger.

If he wants the apps, he needs to pay for them. This is what copyright laws are all about. You could always give him your password and then immediately change it but I don't know if they would continue to work on his machine. You really should have wiped them before selling the machine.

I have iPhoto '11 on my new MacBook Pro and it came with it. I do not need an Apple ID to update this app because it came with the computer. When I bought and put iPhoto '11 on my Mac Pro it says I need an apple ID to update. Is there anyway I could make the apps work similarly the iPhoto that came with the MacBook Pro.

I've been changing the date back a year on the computer when installing iLife '11 to get around this.

Interesting, thanks mayer. I will keep that in mind next time I sell a computer with apps on it. This will help a lot.
