I have a kenmore series 80. It doesn't spin well so I think it needs a new clutch. However, the transmission is totally stuck and I can't remove the transmission shaft out of the drum. Is it just rusted solid and beyond repair, or what could i do to fix it? I also can't get the tub nut off, even with the special tub nut wrench.

Do you mean that you can't remove the agitator nut off the transmission shaft?
Try spraying the nut with WD40 and allow it to penetrate for some hours (even a day) before trying to undo it and check if that works.
Here's a link which has a video that shows how to replace the clutch in your model washer.
If you do get it off, search online for 285785 to find clutch suppliers that suit you best. (examples only)

No, the problem was getting the transmission out to change the clutch.

In the end, I lucked into a new front load machine at a deep discount from a store that was closing down.
Although I like to repair my old machines to keep them going as long as possible, I had already repaired this old machine a few times and the tub is starting to rust, and with not being able to get the transmission off myself, I just decided to buy a new machine.

Hi mom in Canada,
Can you locate the information plate and get us the model number of your washer? Sears doesn't make their own appliances and sold dozens of different washers under the Series 80 label, made by any number of different manufacturers. So we really need to know the complete model number in order to tell which one you have.
