Fan cable clamp latch

Hi everyone

It's my first time working on a laptop :) (or any kind of computers really) it's a MacBook Pro 2020 (I know its not the best device to start with).

I had it since 2020 and it's always running hot, and after doing some research I figured that the thermal paste might be the issue so I tried to reapply it myself.

Everything was going well until the very end :') , and I accidentally unclipped the fan cable clamp latch (went flying) >> found it after an hour >> tried to put it back >> went flying again >> and for the last 2 hours I have been looking for it but no luck :'(

I did search about it but no one had an issue with this exact cable clamp latch.

Is it okay to leave it like this? or is there a safe DIY way to fix it??

I would really really appreciate any help

I took the motherboard apart again as I thought that maybe the latch got beneath it, but no luck. Next I thought about vacuuming the whole working room which somehow worked!

So a tip for anyone who finds themselves in the same mess: if you lose a tiny, critical piece during your first-ever laptop repair… just grab a vacuum! Apparently, it doubles as a high-powered parts recovery tool. Who knew? XD

And I appreciate everyone's support :)

You have one of the best Mac repair person in Australia Paul Daniels but he's up North in Queensland. See if he's willing to send you the latch or a complete connector.
