Why won't my battery charge?
My HP EliteBook 840 G4's battery will not charge. Like at all. The only way I can use it is to plug it in. The person I bought it from said they bought a new battery for it but the problem has persisted. Can anybody please help?

btw you can try this first
download and run HPIA
https://ftp.ext.hp.com/pub/caps-softpaq/...
Click on Analyze
Allow for some time for the system to complete the discovery.
click on recommendations tab when discovery is complete.
check on the the items that is recommended to install. especially on audio drivers.
click download.
select on the radio button, download softpack, extract files and install.
once done, your pc will need to restart to update bios and misc.
And try to reseat your battery again
