Drive won't accept or eject discs
I have a strange problem on an original PS4 Bluray drive. It no longer accepts discs. I have checked the switches inside, they are working fine. I have checked the fuses on the motherboard, no problem with those. I have checked the motor runs, that is fine too.
If I manually load the disc it reads just fine. When I start the PS4 up with no disc in, it goes through the process of trying to read and then the drive load / eject motor runs for a brief second then it just stops. This happens every time which suggests the motor is getting power (ribbon cable looks good).
I've never seen this fault before and cannot find any info on it. Has anyone else had this problem?
Cheers,
Damien

On further investigation it appears that the PS4 thinks there is always a disc in the drive. I believe this is determined by the third switch on the motor board, the one that sits apart from the two that sense a disc being inserted. I've checked this and the board connections and all appears to be fine so I guess the only remaining possibilities are the ribbon cable that connects it to the main board or the main board itself.
