Black screen after replacement

Hello, I finished installing a new screen in a pixel 7, I then rebooted the phone, got the start screen and all works fine while the screen is awake ( touching, swiping, etc), but when the phone/ screen goes to sleep it will not wake up no matter what is done. I then have to reboot to get anything and then again it is fine as long as it it’s awake, goes to sleep and can not wake it up. Thank you
