I have an iPhone 7 Plus that overheats. I’m going to swap out the battery, however, the bottom left corner of the screen has a single crack running from left edge to bottom. I don’t want to replace the screen, it costs too much. Can I open the phone, replace the battery, and put the phone back together still? Or will the suction cup snap the screen? Thanks for your help! This is my first repair.

It's not out of the realm of possibility. It depends on how big the crack is. If it's a single crack, you can probably get it out without any additional damage, especially if it's mostly limited to the bezel. I have gotten away with it on more than one occasion in those circumstances.
If you want you add a picture to your post, it would help to give a better idea.

Thanks for the quick response! It isn’t a very big crack. I’ll take a photo tomorrow (I’m repairing it for someone, so I don’t have it yet). You sound like an expert :)
