How to 'TEST FIT' a screen and chassis?

Question: can you TEST FIT the screen and chassis and leave the fingerprint sensor out and the front facing camera?? so you don't have to take the protective films off.

Obviously i won't be using any adhesives on the battery or anything else until i can confirm it was the screen that was broken.

I want to make sure its the screen that's broken first incase i have to send the part back. So just want to check it powers on without connecting the camera or fingerprint. Is it possible to test without those components in??
