Data Cable isnt working

So, there’s four main reasons why the phone (maybe) won’t connect to data:

1: the charge port might be damaged. There’s different pins (the little metal bits you might be able to see inside of a charge port) for data and power, so it’s possible that the data pins might be damaged.

2: No drivers. If you’re trying to connect it to a computer, your computer might not have the necessary drivers to connect to the phone. Xiaomi might have the drivers on their website, or you can go through your device manager (if you’re on windows) and see if there’s any unidentified USB devices and mess around with the drivers there. Could also try plugging the phone into a different computer/USB port to see if that works too.

3: The phone isn’t in the right mode. I’m not sure about Xiaomi, but a lot of mobile phones have a little “allow access” box that pops up when you connect it. Make sure you hit allow/ok if it does pop up.

4: Software issue on phone. Could just be a glitch in the phone itself. Restarting or powering off and back on again could work, as well as making sure it’s fully updated.
