I purchased a pixel 7 pro screen. Installed with no problem except the FP scanner isn't calibrated to work and no one at Ifixit can tell me why. I've tried all your suggestions so far and looked through many blogs related but I haven't found anything that works.
How can I recalibrate the fingerprint sensor on a Google pixel 7 Pro.

Google Pixel screens must be recailbrated with the new fingerprint sensor, but Google provides the tools to do that because they do care about repairability.
You need to use the official google pixel software repair tool. Make sure you are running a current version of Windows (10 or 11) with a update version of Chrome, and open this link: https://pixelrepair.withgoogle.com/udfps
Then follow the instructions therein to recalibrate your phone's fingerprint sensor.

This didn't work several times but I tried it again and it worked. Ugh! Shouldn't be so complicated. Ifixit was consistent and professional (which is why I tried it yet again) and stick with me until it was resolved.
