Wondering if it is possible to upgrade the interconnect board with one from a newer model? I saw this question asked once before but with an unsatisfactory answer...
And if it IS possible and i could thereby lose the Pata connection from the optical drive and gain a Sata connection would this sata connection still be limited in speed (ATA100 speeds)?

According to this vendor they all use the same interconnect board.

Thanks!! Apparently I need to work on my googling skills..... I missed that one. And what i'm trying to accomplish is adding more storage but making it easy for myself with regards to connectors and what not. And general interest as well because I like fidgeting with the thing :-)
You can go that way or a self-powered USB Hub will connect many devices.
