Any Way to Recover my Old Data

So, I have a difficult one.

An old ipod touch 4th Gen, circa 2011. 32gb.

Many years ago the power button on the top broke and I stopped using it.

Now I want to get the old photos and pictures off of it. Got photos of old dogs and stuff, not backed up anywhere else.

Problems.

1. It won't turn on. When I connect it to my PC the screen turns on to the icon of a USB cable with an arrow pointing to the itunes logo.
2. My PC does not recognize it, "The last USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned and Windows does not recognise it".
3. The iPod is not associated with my itunes account. For the life of me I can not remember why or how, what account it was registered to in 2011, it was not my email address. So effectively, whatever account it was on, is long gone. (I was a teenager then and can't remember anything).

I'm not overly interested in fixing the iPod, I just want to take the data off the hard drive and have it on my computer.

Is there any way of this being possible without having the account details and without the Ipod functioning?
