Have you done any kind of repair to the phone yet aside from use reiboot to fix it? Some pictures can also help us identify the problem. It can be easier to recognize issues when we can see what you do! Feel free to add some images to your original question.

Looks like this one took a pretty good hit in the corner. Usually a phone with a bad screen will still boot properly if the screen is working enough to show a picture. It might be worth checking with a known good screen, if you have one, just to be sure, but honestly I am more concerned this is an issue with the board.

I would just have a look at the insides to start. See if there is any liquid or other damage. See if disconnecting other components and then powering on resolves the issue. As Jessa of iPadRehab says "You don't have a board problem until you're sure it's not a parts problem."

But to be honest with you, the first thing I thought was there may have been a hard enough impact to loosen or break some of the components on the board. Especially if the back glass is also broken. The top right corner would be the ideal place for an impact like this to break solder joints, or crack board components since it's relatively close to the location of the logic board. One of the limitations of lead free solder, which is used in modern consumer electronics, is that it is typically more brittle than a leaded variety, making it more prone cracking.

Make sure you inspect the logic board closely as well as all the parts. Post more pictures if you're not sure. You may not be able to tell anything, but your eyes are better tools than most people give them credit for. I will also mention, you may not be able to see if there is damage to the board due to its construction. It's two boards sandwiched together, so if the damage is in the part on the inside of the sandwich, you won't be able to see without unsoldering them boards from each other.
