Is the clock updating? If so, you could try plugging in a USB keyboard and mouse to see if that works. This would indicate an issue with the keyboard/trackpad.
try external screen with internal screen disconnected. i had this once caused by screen. not sure if that was camera or LCD itself, customer only wanted data.
