Asus laptop battery light blinks orange continuously

My laptop is an Asus X441UV, this afternoon I turned it on to find that the battery light is blinking orange, it was on 7% so I charged the laptop however Windows only said it's "plugged in", not "plugged in, charging" and the battery is draining as if it wasn't charging at all, so I restarted but the blinking light persists, so I shut the laptop down but the light won't stop blinking, doesn't matter if the laptop's plugged in or not.

So I turned on the laptop again and let the battery drain so that the laptop hibernates upon reaching the 3% battery mark, hoping that that would solve the problem, however after it turned off it starts "bootlooping" for a lack of a better term, the laptop turns on, lasts for a few seconds, then turns off, then turns on again, lasts for a few seconds, then turns off, it doesn't even have time to boot into windows, it does this continuously until I held down the power button to do a hard reset, but even then, the blinking orange lights persists. As of now, the battery light has stopped blinking, whether because it has ran out of power or is in battery mode I have no idea, and now the battery light doesn't turn on at all even when plugged in, I'm afraid to turn it on as it might cause further damage. What might be the problem here?

For additional information, the laptop was bought secondhand two years ago and I have had problems with whea uncorrectable error BSOD relating to WiFi, that was due to the WiFi card, the charger was original and has not been replaced, it was still working fine when I used it yesterday.
