Can anyone suggest a durable and repairable mouse? (Australia)

I'm disappointed that my Logitech G9x Laser Mouse that I bought new in March 2015 for AUD$189 seems to have failed. I had the buttons replaced a couple of years ago, and put it back into the-world-s-lightest-duty-cycle application of basic control (no gaming) for my desktop computer. This time, it seems to be a fault in the IC.

When I bought the thing, I was hopeful that this was the last computer mouse I would ever buy. Indeed, I expected it to be.

Since then, I have become aware of iFixit, so I had a little look here for reviews of mouse durability and repairability, but couldn't find anything.

Does anyone have any clever suggestions? I want to get about 50 or 60 years of use out of it, sitting on the desk next to my desktop computer keyboard, being manipulated from time to time to move the computer cursor.

Edit: I am only interested in a wired mouse.

Cheers

Ha, you young whippersnappers think you've got it all figured out, don'tcha?

Well, here I post using my trusty 2002 Logitech MX500 wired mouse that's working every bit as well as it did the day I took it out of its box. Longevity? Check. Usability? Check. Durability? Check.

Reparability? That one I don't know, because I've never had to fix it!

I currently am using the Logitech G502 Hero wired mouse (the is also a wireless one). It is very durable and ergonomic. It is currently AU$150, but look out for sales, because I got mine for only AU$70. Link: https://www.logitechg.com/en-au/products...

Sadly, the current crop of keyboards and mice as not as repairable as the ones we had back in the early 2000’s. It all comes down to costs of manufacturing and trying to stay in the sweet spot people are willing to spend given the wow factor of the tech internally and the margins they need to live.

If you can I would stick with a wired keyboard and mouse.

As far as guidance beyond that we don’t really get deep into the peripheral devices, what you mostly see is contributions from people who wanted to add more to the iFixit collection.

I should have mentioned in my original post that I will only consider a wired mouse. It is unnecessary to add another level of complexity aka unreliability.

Keep suggestions coming, folks!
