Screen flickering with lines and lights after placing a piece of paper

Hello, I've been troubleshooting this MacBook pro 13 inch (2016), however, I haven't had any luck in resolving the issue of spamming lines and colors. It has had a screen replacement a few years ago for a shattered screen, and was replaced by Apple. This issue appeared about a month ago. This issue occurred after placing a piece of paper in-between the keyboard and the screen.

Some steps I've already done:

Update the OS

Reboot in safe mode

Reset PRAM / NVRAM

Reset SMC

There is no option for automatic graphic switching (I'm assuming this means there is only 1 graphics unit installed) .

Since this is a 2016 model, there is no true tone option as well.

I feel like I've exhausted all the troubleshooting steps I can do on the OS side. My next thought was that there is an issue with the hardware. I have a lot of experience with Chromebooks and Windows laptops. With those, usually the display connector or the screen itself was the issue. With the MacBook however, I'm not sure if this would stay true.

Does anyone know why placing the piece of paper in-between the keyboard and the screen would cause this issue? Videos and pictures below.

So here's my theory. These 2016 MacBook Pros are notorious for two specific issues relating to the flex cables. The cables that run from the display to the TCON board (which is mounted inside the main chassis) are too short, and they are subject to a lot of tension as the display is opened and closed. This can result in an issue with the backlight cable tearing, but it also makes some weird issues like this happen if bits of dust get stuck.

Dust tends to accumulate here since that is where the fan exhausts and the little bits of debris get pressed into these cables, and can disrupt or sever the electrical signals. If that's the case, the cables can technically be repaired, but it is a delicate and technical operation which typically requires splicing cables and soldering tiny bits. The more permanent solution is a new display.

Does the behavior change when you move the screen (close or open it?)

So I did start moving it around and slightly shaking up/down back/forth. This seems to cause the behavior to get worse, to the point where the all you can see is black and pink rectangles. It seems to go back to the behavior shown in the videos when the device is not moving / shaking.

Do you think there may be any damage to the TCON board itself due to heat being trapped from the piece of paper? Or would you assume this issue deals more with the cable from the display to the TCON like you mentioned before?
