Grinder has no power

Royal Professional, grinder stopped working. It has no power, it must be an electrical problem. Everything else works fine. The question is simply: do I need t replace the control board, the power board, or both? A subquestion: can I test to see which one needs replacing or if there is another reason?

It seems like there might be an issue with the power supply or control board in your Royal Professional grinder. To diagnose the problem, you can try a few things. First, check if there's power reaching the grinder by testing the outlet. If the outlet is working, but the grinder still has no power, it might be a control board issue. You can also inspect the wiring for any visible damage. If you're unsure, it's best to consult a professional technician to determine if you need to replace the control board, power board, or both.

Thank you. The problem is within the coffee machine - the grinder is integrated and everything BUT the grinder works. I should also mention that the technicians do not wish to touch it as it is a 220V machine. I can buy the parts and replace the board, but I do not know if it is a board and if so, which one, control or power. The technicians would even do the work if I bring in the right parts (they did many years ago when we replaced the boiler).

Use this video to unmount the grinder, it´s rather easy. (Perhaps you can borrow a grinder anywhere for a test, most grinders from Saeco are equal. One possibility, of course, is a damaged grinder motor.) Things come easier, when you use the testmode: sorry I have only guides in german. To do so shut the device off. Press and hold the two buttons for espresso and water simultaneously and switch the device on. The display shows strange looking numbers. Press the button for espresso and the grinder should work. Then you can measure the voltage on the two wires, should be 230 V AC when working (Caution!!). If there is no such voltage, it might be an issue with the corresponding triac T10 on the main board. You probably will replace it. I wish you success!
