1 Remote control can't turn DVD player on .
It's the remote problem.
The standby switch is always on, as recalled had never been able to switch off.
The player had worked out right for some times, but mostly wouldn't turn on?
If it's the remote control, the standby button itself was not functioning neither?
And is always red?

As I sign in to ifixit now, I find that it has been couple of years since last time seeked advices.
And it was the same remote control problems, of my TV set;
My follow up now is, I glued up some plastic holder in the switch panel; and easy on the switches.
But the fact is I bought a new TV set, and this one was left untouched for years.
Remember had turned it on just few times!

Can't help with this one as I can't find any information on it.
Did you check if the remote was working by testing it with a digital camera/mobile phone to see if you could see the IR light coming out of the end of the remote in the camera's LCD screen, when as button is pressed?
