Replaced battery indicates 100% but won't stay on without charger

Replaced battery with ifixit replacement battery. Battery charged to 100% and coconut app states all good with full charge but as soon as you remove the charger it dies immediately. Won't start at all without charger.

It's as if the battery isn't even plugged into the computer...

Have tried SMC reset but makes no different.

Any thoughts? Whilst plugged in the computer seems to work fine, but with the old battery even when plugged in it would run slow at times.

Thanks

Hello, I’m sorry to hear that you’re having trouble with your MacBook Pro battery. It sounds like you have a faulty or incompatible battery that is not recognized by your laptop. There are a few possible causes and solutions for this issue:

  • The battery connector may be loose or damaged. You can try to reseat the battery connector by following the instructions on this guide. Make sure the connector is properly aligned and firmly attached to the logic board.
  • The battery may be defective or incompatible with your laptop model. You can check the compatibility of your battery by looking at the model number on the original battery or on the laptop case. The model number should be A1582 for MacBook Pro 13" Retina Display Early 2015. If you have a different model number, you may need to get a new battery that matches your laptop model.
  • The battery may need to be calibrated or reset. You can try to calibrate the battery by following the steps on this article. You can also try to reset the System Management Controller (SMC) by following the steps on this article. These steps may help the laptop recognize the battery and improve its performance.
  • The laptop may have a hardware or software issue that prevents it from detecting the battery. You can try to update your macOS to the latest version and see if that resolves the issue. You can also run Apple Diagnostics to check for any hardware problems. To do this, turn off your laptop, then press and hold the D key while turning it on. Follow the onscreen instructions to run the diagnostics and see if there are any errors or issues reported.

If none of these solutions work, you may need to contact Apple Support or an Apple Authorized Service Provider for further assistance. They may be able to diagnose and repair your laptop or replace your battery under warranty or for a service fee.

I hope this helps you with your MacBook Pro battery issue. Feel free to ask questions at any time. 😊

@kingofspades your AI is out of touch with what we are doing. This is iFixit, not go-to-Apple-to-fix it. Here you will be empowered to fix your own device. You don't get send away. We look for answers, we collaborate, we discover, we learn and we educate. Stuff like this "If none of these solutions work, you may need to contact Apple Support or an Apple Authorized Service Provider for further assistance. They may be able to diagnose and repair your laptop or replace your battery under warranty or for a service fee." needs to disappear.

Use your NI and work on it. Don't rely on the regurgitated stuff from your AI. I want you to be a success in helping others, but you are entirely relying on your AI. you are forgetting to work on it with your own, nature given CPU. Use your noggin!

As you can see the batteries health and the MagSafe connection is seen. We know the power side of the system is working, but clearly the MOSFET switching logic between the MagSafe and battery has failed. This can happen from ESD damage to the logic board as well as a bad charger.
