Haptic feedback no longer responsive.

Suddenly during a play session the controller stopped vibrating and making beeping sounds when turning off and on. The other controller continues to work normally.

Valve support indicates the controller needs to be replaced, but is out of warranty and they don't have any replacements.

Is there some ribbon cable or part that can be replaced that would fix this? I'd rather not take apart my mostly functioning controller without knowing what to look for.
