GE French door refrigerator. top vent is not allowing any cold air in

I don't know your model but looking at the parts diagram for it, there's a fan in the refrigerator compartment at the bottom of an air tower and it pushes air out to the left at the bottom of the tower into the refrigerator compartment and also blows the air up the tower to the top of the refrigerator compartment - see the air flow diagram shown in the mini manual linked below.

So I am unsure what is meant by the OP of this thread saying "two vents on the left hand side" as there is only the one on the left side of the tower at the bottom and the other is at the top of the tower and not on the side.

Enter the service diagnostics as described by the manual and perform test 00 47 FF fan test, to check if the fan is OK Note: FF = refrigerator, FZ = freezer.

If the fan is faulty, here's a link to the parts for your model (see part #716 in the Fresh Food parts diagram)

Search online for WR60X26866 to find fan suppliers that suit you best.

Here's a video that shows how to remove the air tower, so that you can access the fan in the tower to replace it.

If the fan is OK but there is ice build up preventing the air from going up the tower then there's a defrost problem in that compartment. Run test 00 94 - FF defrost heater test, to check that the defrost heater - part # 761 (WR51X10132) fresh food section parts, is OK
