No cooling, no freezing

Hi all, I bought a house about 3 months ago and this refrigerator came with the house. It is a kenmore 795.70322.310 , no idea on how old it is. it has the french doors on top and freezer on bottom. It seemed to be working fine yesterday around dinner time, but this morning everything (top and bottom) was almost room temp. Luckily we still have our old refrigerator in the garage. I am a facility maintenance technician (large machinery) and have lots of tools but not much experience with refrigerators. I haven't checked anything yet but it does have power and there doesn't seem to be any air moving from the vents in the back. It's probably a fan motor gone out but I figured I should ask about anything else that I might need to check? Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

I had purchased a used fridge different brand there was a switch in the system that looked to be on a timer and I had to turn it back. (Probablly planned obsolence) I looked it up but it said it did not have one which was false for my model. The switch was located in a pannel in the fridge side on the roof near the temprature controller. Check near the temp controller and see if there is a faluty component; this would be where the compresser is sent power or recives the signal to turn on.

Planned obsolescence is a big problem with home appliances so I will check it out. Years ago I had a Samsung refrigerator that stopped working 6 days after the warranty period expired. The technician that came to look at that one said it was a control board problem and that it was "common" on those refrigerators. That was when I got the fridge that is currently in my garage, and it was a used, older fridge then, and still running great now.

Well, the compressor is running but not building any pressure. It is an LG linear compressor FC75LBNA which I guess had a big enough failure rate to cause a class action lawsuit. The "universal replacement" that replaces it doesn't work with this control board because the refrigerator is too old (2009), so I would also have to replace the control board. I believe the sign in the front yard will read...

the last time I replaced my 33 yo GE refer, the sales person said I would be lucky to get 5 years out of a new one. Consider yourself lucky.
