Sim card not visible and showing block symbol in place of network range

Try another known working, network compatible same size sim card from another phone in your phone and check if it works OK.
Then try your sim card in the other phone.
Basically swap the sim cards between the phones and check which card works where.
Just ensure that the sim cards are the same size and that they're both for the same network unless both phones are unlocked.
