ROG Ally的维修和拆卸信息,这是华硕制造的一款手持游戏机。于2023年发布,型号为RC71L。

left stick only moved up and down

my asus rog ally was working perfectly for a couple weeks. and then it started where the left stick only moved up and down. so I went into the bios and I saw the mouse cursor kept moving to the right. and this is because of the left stick! if I pushed on the left stick to the left, it would stop the mouse cursor but it couldn't move it back to the left. once the cursor gets to the right edge of the screen, it's stuck and you can only move up and down. if you switch to a different tab or page in the bios, you'll see the hand cursor keep moving to the right.

Opened up the ally joystick and noticed that the plastic piece that tranverses the left right sensor slide mechanism had broken off. I need to find a replacement joystick assembly. I saw a reddit post which indicated that the joysticks on the ally are identical to the win gpd 4. Anyone have a link to a replacement unit? https://www.reddit.com/r/ROGAlly/comment...

I'm having the same issue. Happened out of nowhere. Was fine for a month and then turned it on today and it was like that. It's very weird cause it's not stick drift. It only drifts in bios. Actual menus and games it only moves up and down with no drift. Which tells me it's not the actual stick. It's software related.

Same here, I opened a brand new Ally rog and noticed this issue, so far don't know how to fix it.

Update:
I contacted ASUS service and was told it will take 1 or 2 months to get fixed due to no parts are available currently(in mainland China). I bought two ALPS RKJX21224001 stick controller and replaced both without broken the warranty seal. It's quite easy to open and replace the controller.

I keep trying to keep this thing. And everyday I'm disappointed and feeling cheated. At this point I want to smash it to dust. Because I'm not buying anything else for this POS.

Found a reddit thread about this and it's actually just a small plastic thingy that got lose and is responsible for horizontal movement, just replace the stick or if you're feeling fancy open the stick up and arrange the plastic piece.

theres a little clip inside the analog module that moves the X-axis left/right and one for the Y-axis [up/down]. If you can pull off resetting the sensor in between the clips, you should be golden. It wasnt too difficult for me, being the amateur that I am, it only took me about an hour or so, i ended up doing both analogs eventually, as even the slightest softest drop can cause it to happen. Havent had to do it again tho!

obvious fix is you could just buy hall-effect sticks, theyre about $15 a piece if memory serves correctly

The reason is the bad quality of the stock sticks. Just get yourself some new ones from Amazon for example and with the guide here at ifixit swap the defective one out. It's a work of about 10 minutes and costs near to nothing. Fixed it for me and works ever since I replaced it.
