What are these weird voltage readings?

I have an iPhone 12 mini that won’t power on. I recently acquired this Chinese charging station and I’m just learning to use it, but it usually reads 1.25A and 6.36W when I plug in a working iPhone with a lightning cable, however it does this when I plug in the Mini:

There have been no noteworthy events or clues as to WHY this iPhone will not turn on. It was playing Spotify through a Bluetooth speaker this morning, it was not plugged in, and had 90% of battery life when it suddenly shut down while I was in the other room.

I have opened it up and I see no signs of corrosion either.

hello rickcostel,

there can be many reasons of that behawior. You need to go back to basics. Remove the motherboard from the case and plug in the bench power supply. On the basis of the current load indicator, many interesting conclusions can be drawn.

In your attached video I can see some interesting instruments like Hakko-203 and Quick Air Station. This proves that you have a lot of experience and you will certainly cope with such a simple puzzle. Fingers crossed :-)
