Is it possible to change the power button?
Power button on the side doesn't work anymore. Tried going into the BIOS to find a setting like "power on by keyboard" couldnt find it. Is it possible to replace/ fix the power button?
Hi @apples50478
The power button is hard mounted on the systemboard so you would have to unsolder it and solder on a new one.
As best as I can find out the motherboard model number is LA-F571P. If this is correct then according to the schematic for the motherboard the power button is a TBF312KQR_5P tactile switch (supplier example only).
Looking at the datasheet for the switch model series, you need to get the 5 pin version (see "Circuit" diagram of switch with Ground connection, right side of page) as this is what is shown by the Lenovo part # i.e. the _5P and also in the schematic.
Here's an image of the schematic showing the power button as well as the hardware maintenance manual for the laptop that may be of some help. Go to p.40 to view the procedure to remove the systemboard as no doubt this will be necessary to replace the switch.
