Hasbro released this Furby model in 2012. Furby is intended for young children and up to young adults.

2012 Furby doesn't move, only reacts to feeding, falls asleep fast.

I got this furby second-hand. When I gave it batteries, it talked and its eyes lit up, but the sound was a bit weird. it was really loud and kinda scratchy.

It wasn't moving at all and when I tried to factory reset it (turn upside down, pull tail, push down tongue), it didn't do anything. When I interact with it, it doesn't react except when I push its tongue down. Eating and singing is the only reaction I can get out of it. It reacts to sound too, but it only sings. It goes to sleep about a minute after waking it up. Doesn't move when asleep eighter.

About half an hour in, it suddenly changed its personality and it's evil now. I also cannot get the furby boom app as I don't have the right phone or tablet for it.

I think it may have been damaged in shipping, as the seller said it was in perfect shape. they also wrote that it reacts to touch.

The small 6V brushless DC motor needs replacing. Here’s a guide that may help: Hasbro furby 2012 DC Motor Replacement

You could spin/jumpstart the motor or lubricate it. You can replace it with one from a PC DVD reader (this is the door opener motor). Shaft is smaller but it's ok, diameter is good. You need a solder iron as well to replace electronic part from DC motor.

Once you get the 6V DC motor, you’ll need to solder it on the pre-existing motor wires....if you get the furby moving and the sound is still scratchy, the speaker might be damaged and, need replacing or to be cleaned. I’m hoping this video I made, will help: https://youtu.be/UteznTOUegE

I hope this helps, thanks!
