My microwave works ie heats food up but the turntable is not working and makes a clicking sound any idea

Hi,
What is the make and model number of the microwave oven?
Have you checked that the turntable is resting correctly on the roller ring and turntable motor spindle so that it can rotate smoothly when the oven is started?
It could be a faulty turntable motor.

Could also be the drive belt, easy to replace
Depends on the model. Some are direct drive, no belt
