Disassembled, now screws for cyclone cowl won’t go back in

It seems the screws are supposed to go through the cowl and the cyclone seal into the top body. They’re not going in because it seems they were never long enough to begin with. The pictures attached are with the screws threaded in the hole the minimum amount. With the cowl attached the screws aren’t long enough to thread in at all. I’ve tried pressing down on the cowl as I screw in, and videos don’t seem to have this problem

Hi

Have you got the alignment for the cyclone right?

Also are you using the right screws as there are a verity of screws used across dyson models

Thanks:-)

@hellomacos I believe so, it sits fully in only that orientation. The screws are from the vacuum which is why this perplexes me. I can’t figure out what I’m doing wrong

@meantomatoes

Do they just get overly tight halfway?

完成的

@hellomacos No, they just spin. But I don’t think the threads are stripped, the screws literally don’t seem long enough to reach the threads under the cowl and cyclone seal.

I wouldn’t think they were stripped ether,the posts would crack before that

Maybe be try another screw from another part of the cyclone

It's possible that the screws you are using are not the correct size or length for your cyclone cowl. Make sure you are using the screws that originally came with your vacuum cleaner, as they are designed to fit properly.

If you are certain that you have the correct screws and they still won't thread into the top body, you may need to check if there is any debris or obstruction in the screw holes or threads that is preventing the screws from going in. Try cleaning the holes and threads with a small brush or compressed air.

If you still can't get the screws to go in, it's possible that the screw holes or threads have been damaged. In this case, you may need to take your vacuum cleaner to a repair shop to have the holes or threads repaired.
