Bluetooth devices failing to stay connected

Paired Bluetooth devices fail to maintain connection, resulting in audio that drops in & out, mouse connections that spontaneously stop, and keyboard inputs that fail to go through; all while the "Bluetooth & devices" page insists the devices are Connected, and Device Manager insists the Drivers are up to date. Trying to determine if this is a hardware issue, and if so, how would I repair it?

This is the Intel Model 8265NGW Dual Band Wireless-AC chip. Upon further inspection, it was noticed that the white cable, going into AUX 1, was not fully snapped on, and was being roughly held in place by a sticky piece of foam covering. Upon applying pressure until it was fully snapped on, drastic improvements to audio to almost-perfect were noticed; this will be further tested with Google Meets sessions & possibly Zoom before being considered fully fixed.

Hi @g3g0ry,

Are there WiFi problems as well?

If so perhaps it may be a loose antenna connection.

The WiFi and BT use the same antennas and are on the same WLAN/BT card inserted into the motherboard..

No WiFi problems, which definitely makes it all the weirder. As a test yesterday, I pulled up lofi hip hop radio - beats to relax/study to, paired & connected my G435 via Bluetooth, and let it play for around fifteen minutes; the internet connection remained consistent throughout, but the audio cut in and out randomly, without any interruption to the stream itself. When I connect the G435 via dongle, I get no problems.

Try running the Lenovo hardware diagnostics troubleshooter and see if it shows anything. Click on Network > Bluetooth.

@jayeff I think I may have cracked this, thanks to the hardware booklet you linked to in the other Lenovo problem I working on (re: touchscreen not working & glitching, for posterity); turns out, the Aux 1 (white) cable on the Intel Model 8265NGW dual band wireless adapter wasn't fully "snapped on" (never seen a snap-on cable before) - in fact it was basically being roughly held in place by a piece of foam. After actually pressing it back into position (until it "snapped" into place) and putting on another YouTube radio stream for fifteen minutes, I heard maybe 1 or 2 VERY minor hiccups, indicating drastic improvement. We'll see how it pans out for work tomorrow.

Most if not all WiFi/BT antenna cables in laptops and mobile phones have the "coax" type connector and just plug in, either to a removable card or direct onto a systemboard, unless the antennas need to be soldered directly onto the board.
