I have an unresponsive screen with no physical or water damage. Is it the connections, the battery, or screen?

Hi Brett,

When you say 'unresponsive screen', are you saying that the phone seems to be working but you can't see anything on the screen, or that there's no sign of life whatsoever on the phone? Any change when you plug in a charger? Does it make a sound when you (try to) power it on? What about plugging it into a computer? Is it recognized by the computer?

We'll need more information in order to help out.

My niece had a similar situation with her Pixel 4 XL, where it seemed to be basically dead as a doornail. I disconnected the battery and later plugged it back in and it started working like nothing was ever wrong with it. That's the short version of the story; you can read the whole thing on this answer.

If you've tried everything else and are to the point of desperation, all I can suggest is open up the phone, disconnect the battery and leave it that way for a half hour or so. Connect it back up and see if anything has changed.

This situation seems to have happened to several people, but so far no definitive answers as to why or how.
