Apple Self Service Repair 2021 MacBook Pro A2485

Hi, I have a broken 16" display but I can't afford to pay 850 to get it fixed - if I replace the display with a donor screen, from a dissembled identical model, will I lose any functionality/ will Apple add a watermark etc?

If it does lose functionality etc, has anyone used the self service repair website from Apple to order parts and use the software configuration process? I ask because I want to know if I buy the cheapest part that also requires a Software Configuration (Lid Angle Sensor), if this will then 'reset' the entire display to allow the device to work fully as normal?

Thanks for any help! :)

Sorry the display is tied to the logic board. When you use Apples self service repair you gain access to an online tool to calibrate the new display to your logic board. It’s a one time use app and is linked to the replacement displays S/N so you can’t switch things around.
