Why does my phone doesn't show any signal from my sim card?

I've added a sim card to my phone(Redmi note 8) but it doesn't show any signal it only shows that the sim card is inserted. I've tried to call someone and it shows me to "Turn off airplane mode to make an call" although my airplane mode isn't on.

Is this phone unlocked to use on any cellular network? Sim card faulty? Can you try another sim card?

@notbroken The phone is unlocked but i still cant activate the cellular network.Even if i use another sim card it shows that a SIM card is in the phone but it has no signal.
