My thumb drive Scan Disk CRUZER BLADE 8GB did not eject properly thus how do I retrieve the lost data

I may have an answer, but I need more information first. What OS are you using (Windows, Mac, etc.)? What, exactly happened... meaning, did you remove the thumb drive from the device and get an error of some sort?
