Battery or charging cable malfunction?

This is not my exact model shark rocket pro. I got mine new about 6 months ago. Love it, but suddenly will not charge. I have removed the 21.6V 1900mAh Li Ion batt (model# xfbt620) and tested with a multimeter. On top side it is marked with Right and Left indicators. When flipped over you can see TWO connections/ports on the left and ONE in the right. I placed - probe on right connector, and + probe on the inside connector on left = 19.8V

When I place the +probe on the outside connector on left side, I get 0 V.

I assume this means the batt is toast but hoping to confirm my analysis. Should I could test for continuity on the charger wire? Any help appreciated. So aggravated w idea of dropping 25%+of original purchase price to get it running again so soon 🙄

Morgan Blakely, Are you saying that measuring the battery 1 way then you get 19.8Vthen revering the probes you get 0V? I the only thing I can think of right now that would cause that, is if your meter has a built in “protection” that makes it so you can’t measure “negative voltage” (ie positive probe on negative point and negative probe on positive point).

Also, 21.6V lithium battery seems a tad strange as lithium batteries usually go in increments of 3.7V (which would be 22.2V).

Testing the charger for output voltage is always a good first test. That way you know whether it outputs the correct voltage.

Do not think you answered the question. Should both connectors on the left read power? Only one of the connectors are reading power. Would think both should read power.
