Hello Dan, I'm building a hack Apple Display and wondering if the screen of a imac 2017 will fit into the body of imac 2015? All other internal circuitry will be removed and replaced with a new display driver capable of delivering 5K to a 2017 screen.

@Chris Clausen - So your issued is strictly a mechanical one then. As you are not attempting to use the logic board.
I’ll be frank, I’ve never tried using the wrong display assembly as my goal was and still is keeping systems working as such I always put the correct display with the mating logic board.
So… maybe someone else has tried, sadly this is not a common idea.

Fair enough, I'm sure it is a newer occurrence with the release of the display hardware drivers out of China. Appreciate you coming back to me. My investigations think they are the same shape screen. Cheers!
